AASREC Conference: DECODE Internal Reflections DAY 5

The Association of Asian Social Science Research Councils (AASSREC) held its 2025 Biennial Conference from 3- 5 December 2025 in New Delhi, India where the DECODE team presented its work on 5th December

A paper was presented by Rabi Raj and Saanya Sodhi, examining the systematic marginalisation of the humanities and advocating for the recognition of diverse knowledge systems in education and research. 

This was followed by a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Rajesh Tandon, featuring representatives from the DECODE case studies in India, Bolivia, Colombia, and Malaysia. Drawing on experiences from these regional contexts, the panel explored how community and Indigenous knowledge systems challenge dominant knowledge hierarchies and contribute to more inclusive, just and contextually relevant outcomes.
