The Asia-Pacific Joint Regional Social Work Conference, organized by the International Federation of Social Workers will take place from 26th September to 29th September 2017 in Shenzhen, China. The theme of the conference is ‘Challenges & Responsibilities – Innovative Social Work & Sustainable Development’. The conference is held in partnerships with the International Federation of Social Work Asia-Pacific (IFSW-AP), the Asia-Pacific Association of Social Work Education (APASWE), the China Association of Social Workers and the Open University of China Social Work School.
The conference will cover areas like considerable gaps in living standards between urban and rural development, an ageing society, societal growth and changing family structures. Dr Rajesh Tandon, UNESCO Co-Chair will be participating in the conference as a plenary speaker, and will deliberate on the topic, ‘ Social Work & Sustainable Development: Challenges to Profession’.
