The international Network for Advancing and Evaluating the Societal Impact of Science (AESIS) hosted its annual conference on societal ‘Impact of Social Sciences, Humanities, and Arts.’ The conference was held in an online format on the 13th-15th October 2021 from Brussels, Belgium.

Dr. Tandon spoke of participatory research methodologies in the context of women domestic workers with whom PRIA and MFF have been working with for several years. He stated that bottom up partnership research can produce direct impacts for vulnerable communities. Societal actors are divided on power & income inequality. Not all stake-holders are equally vulnerable to climate & virus impacts. He then asked: how does research support them & their needs/interests? Speaking of PR Methodology, he stated that knowledge sharing & dissemination for societal impacts must be integrated in framing research from start, with understanding about impacts on whom.
