Seminar on “Social Responsibility of Higher Educational Institutions “ organised by Department of Humanities, Delhi Technological University (DTU) on July 21, 2016

Giving a keynote address in the inaugural session of the two day seminar on “Social Responsibility of Higher Educational Institutions “ organised by Department of Humanities, Delhi Technological University (DTU) on July 21, 2016, Dr Rajesh Tandon, UNESCO Co-Chair, spoke on relevance and approaches to ‘preparing socially responsible engineers” (see ppt, https://unescochair-cbrsr.org/pdf/presentation/DTU_21_July%20_16.pdf).

He emphasised that the curruclum and pedagogy of engineering colleges and institutions must integrate issues of social responsibility as manifested in ethics and integrity, inclusion and compassion and respect for diversity of knowledge systems.

Earlier the Vice –Chancellor of DTU, Prof Yogesh Singh underscored the gap in present educational system which did not inculcate values of compassion and service amongst students.
