User’s Manual on Institutionalizing Community University Research Partnerships is now AVAILABLE!

The UNESCO Chair in Community Based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education is pleased to present the User’s Manual on Institutionalizing Community University Research Partnerships. This is the second open access publication under the IDRC sponsored study on Mainstreaming Community University Research Partnerships (CURPs) (the first being the e-book on Strengthening CURPs, which can be accessed at: https://unescochair-cbrsr.org/unesco/pdf/UNESCO%20Book%20Web_with%20BookCovers_Aug202015_FINAL.pdf.

This manual serves both as a handy reference and a ready tool kit for university and college administrators interested in establishing and improving CURP initiatives in their institutions. It provides practical guidelines and steps that will help deliver on policy commitments made to promote Community University Engagement (CUE)/Community University Research Partnerships in Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs). These guidelines, supplemented with best practices (in boxes) from around the world, are intended to show a way forward, and are not necessarily prescriptive; they offer insights into how institutions can build and sustain CURP practices and structures.

This easy-to-use manual is an effort of the UNESCO Co-Chairs (Dr Budd Hall & Dr Rajesh Tandon) towards co-creating knowledge, capacities and partnerships between universities (academics), communities (civil society) and government (policy makers).

The manual can be accessed at: https://unescochair-cbrsr.org/unesco/pdf/CURP_Guidelines.pdf.

A big thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey! Please feel free to share the resource widely with colleagues and friends!
