Adaptation Futures Conference

The 8th international Adaptation Futures Conference (AF2025) was held in Ōtautahi Christchurch, New Zealand, from 13 to 16 October 2025. It was hosted by the University of Canterbury Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha with regional Oceania and international partners.

Adaptation Futures was the flagship event of the World Adaptation Science Programme (WASP). The premier international climate change adaptation conference series enabled practitioners, policymakers, researchers, and academics from around the world to gather, network, collaborate, learn, and inspire.

Dr. Rajesh Tandon presented a paper for the same in New Zealand titled "Dialogue on Knowledge Democracy". This paper looked at the fifty Years of Participatory Research in the Global South and in Māori and Pacific communities, highlighting the lessons, challenges, and going beyond adaptation

Dr Rajesh Tandon also conducted a Panel Discussion titled "Community-led Research; Climate Resilience: Emerging Lessons from DECODE" along with Dr Rafeah Wahi.
