Insights on Participatory Research: UNESCO Expert Sharing at Singapore University of Social Sciences

Dr Rajesh Tandon Tandon spoke at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) on the relevance and imperative of Participatory Research (PR) in working with older adults, in a gathering of researchers and practitioners engaged in work on memory, cognitive health and reminiscence.

He emphasised that PR is an integrated approach to -research, learning and action: producing knowledge, learning from one another, and using that knowledge to enable change.  This has important implications for working with older adults. Their lived experiences, memories and everyday practices represent a rich body of knowledge that is often overlooked by conventional research systems.
